YORK's heavy investments into research and development bore results with introductions of new and advanced features for its products every year including its revolutionary air-conditioners which have built-in starters (patented).

As crowning achievement, YORK air-conditioners with built-in starters are the first and only air-conditioners in the industry approved by Jabatan Bekalan Elektrik (JBE). Factory preset, the built-in starters enable more reliable overload protection thereby reducing the risks of misadjustments by installation personnel and enhance its safety feature.

YORK Cooling King air-conditioners also achieved breakthroughs in technological excellence in the cooling capacity.

The 1 HP Cooling King model has broken the 10,000 Btu/hr Cooling Capacity, whereas the 1.5 HP model has passed the 13,000 Btu/hr .

These two new wall-mounted split-unit air-conditioner models are specifically designed to overcome the discomfort of our hot climate by being able to produce "instant cooling atmosphere".

The 2 HP and 2.5 HP models will be introduced into the market soon.

The marketing manager of GA, Yap Wee Keong, said that the YORK Cooling King model is a result of YORK's latest breakthrough in air-conditioning technology.

He claimed that this model, manufactured locally by OYL industries Bhd, is touted to be the air-conditioner model with the highest cooling capacity in the market.

"The average cooling capacity of all the existing 1 HP air-conditioners in the market is 9,000 Btu/hr, while the YORK Cooling King is running at 10,000 Btu/hr," said Yap.

The cooling capacity of an air-conditioner is measured in Btu/hr, the higher the Btu/hr, the faster the cooling capacity.

YORK's latest model achieves a new record of cooling capacity through the use of a high cooling power optima heat exchanger which increases the cooling surface area resulting in higher cooling capacity while the physical size of the unit remains unchanged.

Furthermore, unlike others, YORK's latest models come with a high EER (Energy Efficient Ratio) compressor, at 11.3, contributing to great savings in energy consumption.

Yap added that, apart from the breakthrough in its cooling capacity, YORK Cooling King has also many innovative features.

Coupled with the curved heat exchanger, the YORK Cooling King is also designed to operate at the lowest noise level  - 29dBA at low speed fan. It has a noise reduction random pitched fan blade that offers quiet operation and a wide air-diffusion system that is able to maximise air distribution. The unit is equipped with an auto-fault detection that enables the compressor to automatically cut off when it detects any refrigerant leakage and deficiency in the system, and hence helps in prolonging the life span of the compressor.

The unit also comes with a self-diagnosis system that can detect, and indicate any malfunction of the unit. Users and maintainance personnel of Cooling King will easily know what's wrong with the unit.
